Premium insulated patio covers designed for comfort, durability, and year-round outdoor living.
At Social Outdoor Living, we design and install modern aluminum patio covers that elevate the way you experience your backyard. We proudly install the Azenco R-Shade insulated patio cover system — a sleek, architectural solution engineered specifically for performance in demanding climates like South Louisiana.
If you’re located anywhere in South Louisiana (including the communities of Lafayette, Baton Rouge, New Orleans, Metairie, Mandeville, Madisonville, and Covington) and you’re dreaming of an amazing patio cover, we invite you to explore our website. When you’re ready to learn more, just call us at 337-735-7441 or contact us online.
The R-Shade is not a traditional patio cover. It’s a fully engineered aluminum structure designed to deliver superior shade, heat reduction, and long-term durability.
Unlike wood or basic aluminum covers, the R-Shade system features insulated roof panels that reduce heat transfer, helping keep your patio cooler even during peak summer temperatures.
The result? A more comfortable outdoor living space you can actually use.
South Louisiana weather demands more from outdoor structures.
The R-Shade system is constructed from high-quality extruded aluminum with durable powder-coated finishes that resist:
• Rust
• Corrosion
• Warping
• Fading
• Moisture damage
Its insulated roof panels help block intense sunlight and reduce radiant heat, making it ideal for hot, humid environments.
This is a low-maintenance, long-term solution — not a temporary fix.
The R-Shade patio cover provides full, consistent shade with a clean, contemporary aesthetic.
Its flat insulated roof design creates a streamlined architectural look that complements modern, traditional, and coastal homes alike.
Concealed fasteners and precision engineering result in a polished, high-end finish that enhances your home’s value and appearance.
We are more than happy to answer any questions you may have. Here are a few that we have already answered from our previous customers.
What is the difference between a patio cover and a pergola?
A patio cover features a solid insulated roof that provides continuous shade and protection from the sun and rain, while a pergola has an open or adjustable roof designed to balance sunlight, airflow, and shade. If you're looking for maximum weather protection, an insulated patio cover is an excellent choice.
What patio cover system does Social Outdoor Living install?
We install the Azenco Outdoor R-Shade™ insulated patio cover. Its insulated aluminum roof panels are engineered to reduce heat transfer, improve comfort, and create a clean, modern look that complements any home.
Can my patio cover be customized?
Absolutely. Every patio cover is custom designed for your home. We offer a variety of sizes, colors, configurations, lighting options, and accessories to create an outdoor living space that fits your style and needs.
Will a patio cover keep my patio cooler?
Yes. The insulated roof panels are designed to reduce heat buildup and provide consistent shade, making your patio significantly more comfortable during South Louisiana's hot summer months.
Can a patio cover be attached to my home?
Yes. Most patio covers are installed as attached structures to create a seamless extension of your home, though freestanding configurations may also be available depending on your property.
How much maintenance is required?
Very little. Our aluminum patio covers are resistant to rust, corrosion, fading, and insect damage. Occasional cleaning is typically all that's needed to keep them looking their best.
